The University of Auckland Centre for Earthquake Engineering Research (UACEER) facilitates and coordinartes earthquake engineering research projects in our faculty.
About UACEER
The University of Auckland Centre for Earthquake Engineering Research (UACEER) was established in 2007 and acts as a research centre within our Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
UACEER's main objectives include:
- Coordinating earthquake engineering research projects within the University
- Providing a focal point for international collaborations and large-scale international earthquake engineering research
- Developing our institute's earthquake engineering research capabilities
In 2016, QuakeCoRE, the New Zealand Centre for Earthquake Resilience, was established. It is one of ten Centres of Research Excellence (CoRE) funded by the New Zealand government (Tertiary Education Commission). Centres of Research Excellence (CoREs) are inter-institutional research networks, with researchers working together on commonly agreed work programmes.
The University of Auckland is a key partner institution in QuakeCoRE, and as such the activities of UACEER and coordination of earthquake engineering research has taken a more national viewpoint.
